In theory everyone
would love to own a 0% APR credit card. The truth
is, however, that only those who plan on carrying
a balance on their credit cards would benefit
from a credit card offering a 0% APR. People who pay
off the balance on their credit cards monthly will
not benefit from having a 0% credit card. Oftentimes
these cards charge annual
fees and do not offer the same privileges
or perks that other interest bearing credit cards
offer. 0% credit cards are normally presented as an
introductory offer in a bid to entice customers to
sign up. Such deals last for a specific length of
time and then the credit card reverts to a normal
interest bearing credit card. Alternatives are credit
cards that offer 0% APR on transfer balances. In other
words, when a client transfers a credit card balance
to the new card no interest will be charged on that
specific amount for a defined length of time, however
new purchases will be subject to interest charges.
Even among the 0% APR credit cards there is a selection
to choose from. Again here, wise customers will do
their homework first and decide on the card that is
best suited towards their needs and their lifestyle
before making any commitments.
As with everything
else in life almost nothing comes for free.
There is a hidden cost behind every incentive that
is offered and with 0% APR credit cards, sometimes
that hidden cost is in a higher interest rate after
the initial grace period, sometimes it is found in
an annual
fee or even service
charges. Whatever the case may be 0% APR credit
cards can be a great tool for people who are shrewd
enough to use them carefully and to their benefit.
