The America West® FlightFund® Platinum Visa® Card is a credit card designed for those with a very good credit score and history. This credit card is a platinum card issued by the Bank of America, and is ideally sited to those that use or intend to use America West Airlines on a regular basis. The rewards program on this card enables cardholders to earn one mile for every dollar spent on the credit card, and double miles are available for credit card purchases made on America West services or merchandise. A bonus of five thousand miles is credited to the account upon approval, and a further one thousand miles with the first purchase. An additional one thousand miles is credited every year when the annual fee is paid.
This credit card offers an introductory 1.90 percent interest rate, which is applied to balance transfers and new purchases for six months. After this, the interest rate rises to 12.49 percent variable, with a cash advance interest rate of 21.49 percent variable. The maximum credit limit stands at $25,000, and there is an annual fee charged of $75. Cards for additional cardholders are available at no extra cost, and there is a twenty day grace period on the card.
There are other fees associated with this credit card, including late payment fees of between $19 and $39 depending on the credit card balance. Over the limit fees are charged at $35, and there is a three percent or ten dollar charge on cash advances. There is, however, no charge for balance transfer transactions.
The America West® FlightFund® Platinum Visa® Card offers a range of additional benefits in addition to the rewards program. Some of the benefits available include: Internet account services, a $50 companion certificate available each year upon payment of annual, two complimentary America West Club passes, protection against unauthorized Internet transactions, travel accident insurance, emergency airline ticket replacement, lost luggage insurance, hotel theft insurance, and car rental insurance.
