Issued by the Bank of America, the Bank of America® Alaska Airlines Visa® Platinum Card is ideally suited to those with good credit, who regularly use Alaska Airlines or partner airlines. Cardholders can benefit from the rewards program, which offers air miles for purchases made on the credit card. One mile is awarded per dollar spent, with double miles available on Alaska Airlines purchases or on the purchase of selected package deals. A five thousand mile bonus is credited to the account upon approval, with an additional tow thousand miles a year available when the card is renewed. There is no maximum limit on miles earned, but the account must remain active in a three year period in order to stop the miles from expiring.
As well as the rewards program, this credit card offers a number of other cardholder benefits, which include: online account services, an annual $50 round-trip companion certificate when annual fee is paid, two annual board room passes, protection against unauthorized Internet transactions, legal and medical referral services, travel assistance services, emergency airline ticket replacement, lost luggage recovery, travel accident insurance, car rental insurance, and car rental discounts.
The maximum credit limit on this card stands at $5,000, and there is an annual fee charged of $75. Cards for additional cardholders are available at no extra cost, and there is a twenty day grace period on the card. This credit card offers an introductory 1.90 percent interest rate, which is applied to balance transfers and new purchases for six months.
This card also has a number of other fees associated with it. Over the limit fees are charged at $35, and there is a three percent or ten dollar charge on cash advances. There is no charge for balance transfer transactions. There are also late payment fees of between $19 and $39 depending on the credit card balance. |
