The Continental Airlines Platinum Card is a credit card that is issued by Chase, and is designed for people that have a good credit rating and history. This is an ideal card for those travel, or plan to travel, on a frequent basis with Continental Airlines. Cardholders can earn air miles through spending on their credit card, with one mile per dollar on general purchases. However, this can be doubled by spending at participating retailers as well as on Continental Airlines tickets. There is no expiry and no limit on the miles that can be earned on this platinum card.
This credit card does have an annual fee of $65, but new cardholders will receive a bonus of six thousand miles with payment of their first annual fee. This card also offers an introductory 7.99 percent interest rate on balance transfers and purchases for a period of six months. The standard APR charged for new purchases is a variable interest rate of 15.49 percent, and for cash advances you will pay a variable interest rate of 21.49 percent. Cards are available for additional cardholders at no extra charge, and the maximum credit limit that may be awarded (subject to status) on this credit card is $100,000.
This credit card also has a number of fees associated with it. If you make a late repayment, you may be charged between $15 and $39, with the exact amount being based on the balance of your credit card. If your credit card exceeds its limit, a charge of $35 will be applies. Balance transfers are charged and three percent or a minimum of five dollars, with a maximum charge per transaction of $75. For cash advances, card holders will be charged at the greater of three percent or ten dollars.
The Continental Airlines platinum credit card also offers a range of additional cardholder benefits.
